Description of View from Fort Pulaski

Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on Cockspur Island between Savannah and Tybee Island, Georgia. It preserves the fort, where in 1862 during the American Civil Way, the Union Army successfully tested rifled cannon in combat, the success of which rendered brick fortifications obsolete.

This painting was done from memory of a recent visit to the fort where I was able to take several photos of cargo ships coming up the Savannah River to the Ports of Savannah.
