Description of Pulaski Reflection
Fort Pulaski National Monument located on Cockspur Island between Savannah and Tybee Island, Georgia preserves Fort Pulaski. During the American Civil War, the Union Army successfully tested rifled cannon in combat in 1862, the success of which rendered brick fortification obsolete. The fort was also used as a prisoner-of-war camp. The Park offers Plein Air painters many beautiful vistas with marshes, the Savannah River, lush forests and canal creeks.
