Description of Green Island
This pastel painting is based on a photo I took during a bike ride during the summer of 2018 to the south end of Skidaway Island GA looking out towards Green Island, an uninhabited island that was once used as a campground for boy scouts. Charles Hollock wrote a book, Wild Cattle Hunting on Green Island (GA). The book which was published in 1860 is available at the University of GA library.
The pastel painting is 8.5″ x 11″ on black sanded pastel paper. Matted and framed the dimensions are 16″ x 19″. I used soft and hard pastels along with a few pastel pencils.
