Description of Cook’s Old Mill

Cook’s Old Mill is a mid-1800’s gristmill near Greenville, West Virginia. It is a privately owned park-like venue for tourists, history buffs, Cook descendants, and mill enthusiasts. For more information about the mill and the park, go to www.cooksoldmill.com.

Painting this scene brought lots of enjoyment as I recalled growing up in those hills, going to summer camp near Greenville, sightseeing during Sunday drives with my parents, sister and brother. Stops for frozen custard were always included in those outings.

This painting was accepted in the 2021 Southeastern Pastel Society Juried Show.
