Morning Pages

After a two-year hiatus, I recently returned to writing Morning Pages. The impetus to return to an old routine was another go round with The Artist’s Way 12-week program designed by Julia Cameron.  Morning Pages, one of the program’s central exercises, requires participants to write three-pages, by hand, first thing in the morning, about whatever comes to mind. This morning, my MP inspired me to resume writing blog posts for my website.

In writing MP I often discover what I do want by writing about what I don’t want. This morning it occurred to me that since I retired and don’t conduct staff meetings anymore, that I really miss sharing new stuff. Writing a blog might just fill that void. I am constantly learning new stuff, discovering new people, techniques, websites, etc.

I’ve already assembled a list of topics and will begin writing and sharing in the very near future. Be sure to sign up to receive notification when new blog posts and new art are added to this website.

It is impossible to write morning pages for any extended period of time without coming into contact with an unexpected inner power.  . . . Morning Pages map our own interior. Without them, our dreams may remain terra incognita.  . . . Using them, the light of insight is coupled with the power for expansive change.  . . .  The pages lead us into undreamed-of solutions.
